Work As A Virtual Customer Assistant

A growing work-from-home opportunity is to answer the inbound customer calls for companies like J Crew, 1-800 Flowers, Virgin Atlanta, or Walgreens. This is called a Virtual Customer Assistant. They pay you by the hour, so it is a great option to consider for someone wanting to work at home.
This is another job that I have done in the past that I really enjoyed, but you do have to have a dedicated area in your home to work out of that is free of noise and outside distractions. The companies that you would work for are very adamant about this.

Thanks for the info. I don't think that this type of work would work out to well for me as I have dogs in my house that would surely start barking as soon as I got on the phone.

I have always been curious about this. Thanks for the post. Do you know what kind of equipment you need to do this? What kind of head set do you use? Do the calls come through the computer or the phone?

It's been years, since I did this type of work. I used a simple phone headset at the time, and took calls from the phone. While on the phone, I would have to be in front of my computer though. This is how I input orders, etc., while talking to the customers. I wouldn't think that they would be doing it any different now. A lot of companies these days seem to have Live Online Chat for Customer Service, so some may be doing it that way now.

Thank you for the response. I suppose I want to know what I would have to pay up front to get myself set up. The phone, the head set, are there any other things I would have to buy?

That's pretty much the jest of it, unless you don't already have a computer. You will have to have a computer and I would suggest having a printer of some sort. It doesn't have to be expensive. I can't think of anything else right now that you would need.

Hello, Is there such a site that actually helps the Virtual Assistant get assignments. I know upon doing a google search a million come up and I never know which ones are legit.
