How do you determine which keywords will be more useful for an SEO article? How do you find which keywords are searched by more people?

I use Google Adword Keyword Tool. You use this tool to search whatever topic your article or post is going to be about. You put this in the search tool, and it will give you a list of numerous keywords to choose from. I narrow the search down to the lowest competition and highest searches done keyword phrases. This tool automatically shows you this. These are the keywords that you should use in the Title, Headings, and Body of your article. Best scenario would be to stumble upon a keyword phrase that has low competition, high search rate, and not a lot of content published when you look it up in google search. If you can find this, then you will have yourself a goldmine. bounce

Just always be careful not to litter your article too heavily with words meant for SEO. This can be off-putting to readers, and hurt you in the long run.

You are exactly right, Okapi. You do not want to add more than one or two links within your text, or other places. It will put your readers off, and the search engines will penalize you for it. That will give your site a lower ranking.

How about choosing more than one key word and making sure not to use them to many times. How many keywords can you use per article and how often can you use each one.

You can use keyword phrases, if that is what you are referring to bluebonnet. As far as how many you can use in an article, you should use your judgement most of the time. I typically don't put more than 2 keyword link phrases within an article that is posted to a blog or site and then I will use the resource or Author Bio box for a couple of links. If you are submitting to article directories, then you are only allowed to use links in your Resource Box. As far as just using keywords without the in text links, then I wouldn't use more than 2 or three at the beginning of your article. Search Engines like to see your keyword/s in your Title, Headings, and the first few words of the first paragraph.
