Office Furniture In The New Living Room Empty Office Furniture In The New Living Room

It is about every ten years that the trend of family closeness changes. Many families were moving away from each other and spending time alone doing activities that they enjoyed. However, the new trend is moving towards togetherness. Instead of meeting within the living room; the family is sitting down on the office furniture and playing games and surfing the internet together.

The internet is changing the face of entertainment. It offers games and media in a way that nothing else has previously. Several entertainment and media companies are currently working on ways to move all of it onto the television and back into the living room. In the mean time, people will continue to congregate in the office.

Families now gather around computers and share the stories of their day as they play a game on a social networking site. With this is mind, it might be a good time to make the office a little more conducive to a home feeling. Maybe some new comfortable chairs or an upgrade to that desk you have had for fifteen years?

Creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in an office doesn't take too much effort. It can be done with placement of comfy chairs or even a love seat. The idea is to not make it too cramped but still fun and relaxing. If it is where you work then don't get too comfortable though. If you think that the temptation of a sofa or love seat would be too great then opt out of that.

While many people are able to view television and movies on there computer it can be a bit of a distraction. Adding a television to the room allows for others to watch while you continue to work. If taking a break, then it can be very relaxing to sit back for a moment, blank out and channel surf.

Put some rugs on the floors. Rugs can add a splash of color to a normally dull room. If there are windows in the room then consider matching drapes. This will give the room a very inviting, yet professional feel.

Turn the area into a cozy family room with a lamp. Lamp light offers a soothing and comfortable light as opposed to harsh overhead lights. Try using a soft light light bulb along with a color lamp shade. If you can get the shade to match the room then it will have a more unified look to it.

As families move into the office to spend more time together, consider getting office furniture that will suit your family. Deciding on the furniture can also be a good family experience. The next time you go into your office consider if it is a good idea for you.

Wouldn't it be more practical to just put a computer for the family in the family room and to leave the office alone for working.

Office Furniture In The New Living Room Empty Re: Office Furniture In The New Living Room

Having a computer in the family room permanently is dangerous as it will totally take the family time away, i.e. the talking family time to share their day events. I would not mind a laptop in the family room once in a while, but not a computer on a permanent basis.

The basement / games room is a different story. Here in Toronto most people have their basements converted to either an entertainment room or a games room where some people have placed the PS3 / Wii type of items along with a computer for online games and may be even use it as a DVD player for the projector home entertainment system.

Great advice.
