HOWDY From a Newbie! Empty HOWDY From a Newbie!

Post by Schmoopy60 Sat Sep 18, 2010 9:52 pm

Just popping in to say "howdy"! I'm cautiously looking into this "working from home" thing. I'm a retired graphic designer and am looking for something to occupy my time and hopefully earn a bit of cash. We recently moved to a different state for my husband's job and I'm far away from my family and friends. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I'm homesick, lonely and bored! I spend tons of hours on the computer because it seems to be one of my few links to the "outside world". I've tried looking for work, but we live in a small town and there is not much opportunity here. Besides, I make numerous trips back home to see my precious grandkids. Most employers are not that flexible. For awhile I became involved with bidding on penny auctions. It was fun and I won several auctions. I sold the items on ebay at a profit. However, overall I've ended up in the hole. Penny auctions are becoming way too competitive now and you can't win unless you have very deep pockets. Then I tried online casinos....again...fun, but not profitable. Now i'm looking at working-from-home oppportunities. Not sure where I'd fit in, but am going to do some research. I know nothing about what is out there. I don't really care about making tons of money. I'm more interested in finding something I have a passion for and it would be great to make a little cash. I'm not quite old enough for Social Security yet and it would be great to have my own spending money. Anyway....happy to be here...hoping to learn from all of you! Thanks!
